It seems that Danny had a calling for the Mixed Martial Arts from the time he was five years old. His main martial arts training was in Shotokan Karate throughout his school years. After high school to the present time he has studied Muay Thai, Boxing and Submission. His commitment to be the best, found him training in Thailand at the Fairtex Muay Thai Camp. Danny has competed in competition fighting in Karate, Muay Thai and Boxing. He had an outstanding Muay Thai record of 27 1 - 1 and Golden Gloves Boxing record of 4 - 2 with 4 KOs. Although he held Five Titles at two different weight classes, which included the United States light heavyweight kickboxing champion, he decided to retire from the fight game to do what he loves the most, Instructing/teaching. Being a good athlete, Danny caught on fast to the science of Muay Thai, Boxing and Submission. Understanding of proper body mechanics and transferring that information to others has been his greatest asset. Teaching has always come natural for him and he loves what he does. It was no mistake that Danny competed, trained, and instructed others out of the well known gym, American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose before opening his own gym in Hollister. American Kickboxing Academy is owned by World Champion Javier Mendez. Danny knew the value of training along with the greats such as Javier Mendez, Frank Shamrock, Jerome Turcan, BJ Penn, Tito Ortiz and others. Danny now brings all his experience and knowledge to Hollister. He believes if your going to do it, you might as well do it with perfection. That belief system is what has propelled him to becoming one of the most qualified and in demand instructors in the Mixed Martial Arts world today. Besides training and working the comer of many Kickboxing Champions, he also trained a young man with no prior boxing experience so he was able win the Golden Gloves light heavy weight title. Danny also had the opportunity to work an offseason with San Francisco 49ers defensive team.
